Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital Circle of Care Cancer Boutique Committee received the 2012 New Hampshire Association of Hospital Auxiliaries Group of the Year Award. This Circle of Care Committee worked for two years to research, design, raise funds and open a cancer boutique in the NEK that provides service to patients in the North Country of New Hampshire and Northern Vermont. It is the only cancer boutique in the State of Vermont, and the only boutique north of Concord, New Hampshire. Paul Bengtson, CEO of NVRH said, “Congratulations to the NVRH committee on their incredible work and dedication to patients in both Vermont and New Hampshire. Thank you to all of the Auxiliaries and Volunteers who serve their hospital with such dedication and innovation. We could not do our work without you.”
Laurel St. James-Long a NVRH Auxiliary/Volunteer member was recognized for her work on the Circle of Care Cancer Boutique committee. Nominated for the 2012 NHAHA Volunteer of the Year Award by Pat Forest, NVRH Auxiliary/Volunteer Manager, who said of Laurel, “She poured her heart and soul into this endeavor because she cared for her brother, who had cancer and passed away. She wanted to help others who were battling this disease. Laurel is not only a kind woman, but dedicated to the people in the community through the Circle of Care Boutique.”

NVRH is the only Vermont hospital that is a member of the New Hampshire Association of Hospital Auxiliaries; membership is open to New Hampshire and Vermont hospitals. This is the second award in 10 years for NVRH.
