Dr. Andrew Nisbet has joined the Medical Staff at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital as a full-time urologist. Nisbet most recently left the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where he did a six year residency combining general surgery and urology. He received his MD from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 2004.
His practice focuses on both adult and pediatrics, and includes diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer, vasectomy, kidney cancer and kidney stones, erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence and voiding dysfunction in men and women, prostate cancer, male infertility, pediatric urology and BPH (benign prostate hyperplasia). One of the reasons he chose the field of urology is because of the surgical reconstruction, which is very specialized.
“People at NVRH have been friendly and accommodating,” said Nisbet of his first couple of weeks at the hospital. Stated CFO Bob Hersey, “we are extremely pleased to have Dr. Nisbet join our medical staff. He’s a great addition to the community, bringing his energy, expertise and knowledge to our patients.”
Nisbet’s wife, Elizabeth Johnson, also a urologist, is in her 3rd year of residency at Dartmouth. They live in Lyme, NH, and enjoy spending time in the outdoors, including biking the Kingdom Trails, hiking, swimming and running.
Dr. Nisbet’s office is on the third floor of the hospital, within the Specialty Clinics. For questions, please call 748-7382.
