Anne Somers is the new Practice Manager at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital’s Kingdom Internal Medicine on Breezy Hill Road. Anne was most recently the Chronic Care Coordinator at the Danville Health Clinic.
Anne has lived in the area since she was 13 years old. She took prerequisite courses in nursing at White Mountain Community College and has spent her entire work history in patient care in one form or another for the past 15 years.
Anne first worked with residents at Kendal at Hanover in Hanover, NH, providing care, comfort, nourishment and emotional support to residents with various needs. Additionally, she acted as a communication conduit between family members and providers. She then worked in various roles at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and the Norris Cotton Cancer Center-North. Regardless of whether it was at the bedside or behind a desk supervising others, she is a “people person” through and through. She enjoys communicating and/or problem solving, individually or in a team, on behalf of others.
Of her role as Practice Manager at KIM, Anne is delighted. “This is a great practice, and I feel fortunate to be part of it. I’ve worked for years with providers, nurses and patients and this position brings it all together in a tremendously focused way. I feel great support from everyone in the practice, as well as the hospital and I look forward to working collaboratively with everyone, using my current skills and learning even more!”
Laura Rooker, Director of Physician Practices at NVRH says of Anne’s arrival, “We are extremely excited to have Anne at Kingdom Internal Medicine. She comes with high recommendations and her clinical background provides an excellent foundation as Practice Manager. Her rapport and commitment to patient-centered healthcare are excellent additions to an already outstanding team at KIM. I look forward to watching Anne put her knowledge and skills into action.”
Anne and her husband Michael live in Peacham with their two children, Owen (10) and Avery (5); when not in the office, Anne’s time is spent with her family. She’s looking forward to skiing at Burke Mountain this winter!
