Women’s Wellness/Pelvic Pain and Incontinence

At Physical Therapy, you will find a conservative approach to regaining your confidence, gaining control of your bladder, and reducing pelvic pain through muscle reeducation.

We promote a program of exercise for the pelvic floor muscles with education and use of surface EMG to help patients regain bladder control and reeducate the pelvic floor muscles for contraction. This also aids in relaxation and reducing patients’ pain and incontinent episodes. These exercises are essential in strengthening your pelvic floor, which helps support the pelvic organs. When these muscles are weakened or stretched, it can cause or contribute to incontinence or pelvic pain, whether your symptoms are secondary to trauma or of unknown cause.
