Digital MammographyMammography produces x-ray images of both male and female breasts. Digital mammography at NVRH features LORAD Digital Mammography equipment. This full-field digital system generates high-resolution images for the screening and diagnosis of breast cancer.
All mammography services are provided under the directon of a board certified radiologist.
All our technologists are American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certified and licensed by the state of Vermont.
NVRH is accredited in digital mammography by the American College of Radiology. The FDA has designated the American College of Radiology (ACR) as an accrediting body for full-field digital mammography units. This is the country's oldest and largest accrediting body for mammography.
NVRH provides all women an FDA cleared foam cushion, called MammoPad. The pad adds warmth and cushioning helping to relax the patient making it easier for the technologists to get the best possible image. NVRH is a certified Softer Mammogram Provider, a distinciton awarded only to an elite group of healthcare facilities.
NVRH follows the guidelines of The American Cancer Society and the American College of Radiology and recommends that women 40 and older receive annual mammograms.
