Radiology, X-rayRadiology involves the use of x-rays-a form of electromagnetic radiation just like light, to create images of the body. Digital Fluoroscopy uses continuous x-rays to display detailed images on a computer monitor. Barium can be used in fluoroscopy studies of the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine. Barium is very dense which outlines these organs on the x-ray. Portable x-ray machines and C-arm fluoroscopy machines are used in the Operating room, Emergency Department and Inpatient units. All our radiology services are provided under the direction of board certified radiologists. All of our technologists are American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certified and licensed by the state of Vermont. All of our technologists belong to the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).
