Occupational Medicine

NVRH Occupational Medicine Services are located at 1091 Hospital Drive, across from the Norris Cotton Cancer Center.

Hours Monday through Friday, including drug screening. Call for appointment at 748-4393. Same-day service is often available.

Our mission is to provide skilled, quality occupational health care services for our community employers and employees, both for "wellness" and for injury/illness needs. We will work with area employers to promote and protect the health and safety of their workforce. We will act with care, integrity, and compassion, respecting the dignity of each person, both employer and employee.

Our goal is to provide patient-focused, cost-effective occupational healthcare with timely appropriate intervention to facilitate a positive outcome. We also will offer to work in a collaborative manner with employers to provide a safe and healthy work environment, net working with other NVRH departments as appropriate, to optimize the prevention of acute and chronic illness.



Staying competitive and successful in the workplace requires healthy, safe, and productive employees.  We network with local physicals therapists, wellness programs, and other providers to take a team approach to keeping fit employees.  Our providers train and certify in key points of need for our business community.

Our services include:

  • DOT and non-DOT drug screening, with on-site MRO
  • DOT/CDL physicals
  • Pre-employment/post offer physicals
  • Fitness for duty evaluation, with customized mini-functional capacity examinations, by request
  • Return to work examinations
  • OSHA compliance- related respirator clearance physicals, and mask-fit testing
  • Worker’s compensation injury evaluation, including strains, sprains and other musculoskeletal injuries, minor laceration repair on-site, minor burns, eye injuries, and other urgent care that is work related
  • Fall influenza "flu" clinics for vaccinations at the workplace or at our facility
  • Other vaccination needs such as Hepatitis B, tetanus
  • Referral capacity for physical therapy, orthopedists, neurology, and other appropriate specialists
  • On-site work analysis by certified ergonomists through NVRH physical therapy

Our providers:
Susan Olson, M.D.
15 years experience in emergency and urgent care medicine.
5 years experience in family medicine.
10 years experience in occupational medicine.
Certified MRO ( medical review officer for drug screens) and certified drug screen collector.
ACOEM certification for DOT driver’s medical examinations.

Jane Goodman-Page,  MS, ANP
ANCC certified Adult Nurse Practioner 1995 to present.
Registered nurse for 35 years.
11 years of primary care experience.
Administrative and management experience in cardiology and occupational medicine.
Leadership award for graduate work in smoking cessation.
Active in health promotion research in our community.
